Last month, a cabinet minister of the UPA government who was on a visit to Hong Kong ran into trouble with hotel authorities when he insisted on taking a lady guest to his room late in the night. Intelligence sources claim that the hotel’s security restrained the minister from taking the lady to his room till he had informed the reception about it. The minister, needless to say, was livid and threatened to take up the matter with the management. But before he could do it, the hotel management is believed to have got in touch with the Indian Embassy and complained against the boorish behaviour of the minister. The net result of this altercation was that the minister had to take the elevator alone to his room.
