Kathua rape: Accused demand narco test, next hearing on April 28

The victim’s father has moved the SC seeking safety and security of his family members and shifting of the trial from Jammu and Kashmir to Chandigarh

One of the accused in the Kathua gangrape on Monday demanded from the court a narco-test for all those accused in the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl from the Bakarwal community. However, the Chief Judicial Magistrate has postponed the next hearing of the case to April 28, court sources here told UNI. They also said that the court has directed that copies of the chargesheet be provided to all the accused.

Karnataka elections: Parties set to release candidates’ list by April 10

Electioneering in Karnataka is entering a crucial phase around the next five days as both the Congress and the BJP are set to release their respective list of candidates by April 10. According to BJP sources, the party’s central committee that comprises Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among other top leaders, may give its nod to the first list of candidates for the May 12 elections on April 10 while the Congress state unit screening committee will make its recommendations to the party high command latest by April 9-10.
